The quality of the laces I received appear to be of high quality; I don’t really know for sure, though, as I haven’t used the laces, nor will I be in the future. The laces were described as “wide” and they are in fact as wide as indicated in the detailed description of the laces online (i.e. ~6mm).
However, compared to the original laces that came with my Frye boots and most every other boot laces I’ve seen, the Guarded Goods’ laces are much narrower than the norm.

For anyone reading this, I just want to provide a bit of context. The laces in question are 6mm wide, which is the exact width listed in the product description. On my site, “Wide” refers to the wider option within my lace lineup, as I also sell a “Skinny” version that is narrower. It’s simply a way to distinguish between the two variants I offer.
Boot brands include many different lace widths with their footwear. Some manufacturers use 7–8mm laces or even wider, while others use narrower ones. Because of that, there isn’t really a universal “standard” width for boot laces.
These laces are accurately listed at 6mm, and that measurement is included in the product description so customers know exactly what they are getting.
I appreciate the feedback and always try to be as clear as possible in the listings so people can choose the lace that best fits what they’re looking for.
