I'm so glad I bought these! I have a pair of boots with relatively small eyelets, which is why I needed these. They are uniform in diameter, almost round, smoothly finished, AND in a color that coordinates with my boot leather. Turns out 72" was a bit too long. No problem for a pair of scissors.
